Rebecca Herbst (born May 12, 1977 in Encino, California) is an American actress, best known for playing nurse Elizabeth Webber on the longrunning daytime drama General Hospital, a role she originated on August 1, 1997, and Suzee, an alien on the Nickelodeon show, Space Cases.

Career

At the age of six, Herbst told her mother that she wanted to be on television so that she could play with the toys. She has appeared in over 60 national commercials, guest-starred in many television series, including Highway to Heaven, L.A. Law, Beverly Hills 90210, Step By Step, and Days of our Lives.

In 2007, Herbst appeared on Tyra Banks' talk show to help Tyra through "soap opera school."1

Personal life

Her parents are from Germany and she is the youngest of two children. She has an older sister named Jennifer. Rebecca's nickname is Becky, although her mom sometimes calls her Liberty.

She married former General Hospital co-star Michael Saucedo (ex-Juan) in June 2001. They have two children, Ethan (b. October 31, 2001) and Ella Bailey (b. April 12, 2004).

Rebecca's childhood dream was to become a national figure skater and she has skated with the likes of Michelle and Karen Kwan. Because she didn't like the competition aspect of figure-skating, Rebecca's ice-skating career lasted until she turned 16, when she decided to concentrate on acting instead. Other than acting, Rebecca has a passion for designing clothes. She has designed most of her Daytime Emmy dresses and dresses for co-stars Natalia Livingston and Kimberly McCullough. Her family has 2 dogs named Sadie and Ryder.Herbst recently bought a snake for her son Ethan.

Herbst is close friends with many of her co-stars, including Steve Burton. Even though she and Burton are lovers on screen, off screen Burton describes her as being like "his sister". She is also close friends with Steve Burton's wife Sheree.

She is of no relation to GH co-star Rick Hearst (who played Ric Lansing, Elizabeth Webber's ex-husband), whose birth name is Richard Charles Herbst.
