Radha Rani Amber Indigo Anunda Mitchell (born November 12, 1973) is an Australian actress.
Biography
Personal life
Mitchell was born in Melbourne, Australia. Her first name, "Radha", is of Indian Hindu origin and means the paramour of Lord Krishna.[1]. Rani means Queen and Anunda means joy. Mitchell is a vegetarian and practices Yoga.
Career
Mitchell began her career starring on ABC TV's Sugar and Spice in 1988. Progressing to Neighbours in 1994, Mitchell played two separate characters over her 3 year stint on the show. In 1997, she starred in two films High Art and Everything Put Together - both Independent Spirit Award winners. Films including Pitch Black opposite Vin Diesel, Phone Booth opposite Colin Farrell, Man on Fire opposite Denzel Washington, soon followed. Mitchell gained recognition for her performance in the Academy Award-winning Finding Neverland, which co-starred Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. This performance for all co-stars earned each a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. Mitchell then took the title role in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda, followed by a part alongside Josh Hartnett in Mozart and the Whale and the further headlined videogame adaptation Silent Hill. Most recently, Mitchell starred in Rogue alongside Michael Vartan, and will next be seen in Henry Poole is Here and The Children of Huang Shi, also known as Children of the Silk Road.
