    Early years

Guerrero was born in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Walter Coles, an American of English descent and Lucy Guerrero who was from Chile. Guerrero spent her childhood living in San Diego and Huntington Beach, California. In 1972, when Lisa was eight years old, her mother died of cancer. To cope with the loss, her father enrolled her in theater therapy. Her mother and father worked for the Salvation Army, her grandparents were involved in The Salvation Army, and so on for many generations on each side of the family.

    Career

    Early career and acting roles

Guerrero began her show-business career in the 1980s as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams. After being a cheerleader for the Rams, she moved on to be the entertainment director for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.

Later, in the 1990s, she moved on to star in Aaron Spelling's Sunset Beach. She also guest-starred in Frasier (the 'Odd Man Out' and 'Frasier's Imaginary Friend' episodes), The George Lopez Show and starred as scheming Francesca Vargas in NBC's Sunset Beach.

In 1997, she became a sports-anchor on Los Angeles' KCBS station and later KTTV station.

    Fox Sports

In 1999, she moved to the Fox Network, where she participated in such shows as Sports Geniuses, Fox Overtime, Fox Extra Innings and the Toughman competition shows. She travelled to Egypt to tape the special Opening the Tombs of the Golden Mummies. Guerrero also starred in the San Diego Chargers magazine-style television show. She also co-hosted The Best Damn Sports Show Period, alongside Tom Arnold and Michael Irvin, among others.

    Monday Night Football

In 2003, she left The Best Damn Sports Show Period to join ABC's Monday Night Football television crew. Her performance on the broadcast was heavily criticized1. The show hired her with the intention of going in a totally different direction with the job of sideline reporter — personality-driven and feature-driven — then discarded all of that and told her to just do the job in the usual fashion. She said that she never would have taken the job if she had known that they would change their minds like that. Guerrero left the Monday Night Football team after one season and the ratings dropped to lower than before she arrived.

    Post-Monday Night Football work

On June 15, 2006, Guerrero became a correspondent on the TV newsmagazine Inside Edition. Guerrero also became the co-host of VH1's game show The World Series of Pop Culture. Guerrero occasionally writes a blog for the Los Angeles Times sports section.

    Personal life

Guerrero lives in Malibu, California and Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

On February 3, 2004 Guerrero married former Baltimore Orioles MLB pitcher Scott Erickson.

Guerrero posed for a cover-featured pictorial published in the January 2006 issue of Playboy. 2 After her pictorial, Guerrero said that Playboy had asked her to pose for the magazine in the mid-1980s but as a young model it felt like crossing the line. 3

Recently, Guerrero appeared at Quiet Cannon banquet center at Montebello, California to honor the top ten students of each grade level for the high school Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary. She also hosted a charity golf tournament for the Salvation Army to help the local migrant workers in Ventura County, benefiting The Free Medical and Dental Clinic.

But every couple of years after that, I would come across somebody from Playboy asking me to pose...I just never felt like it was the right thing for me to do. I had a real strong desire to cover sports. And it seems like the more recognition I got in sports, the more Playboy kept coming back to me and said, "Hey, do you want to do the cover now?"...it wasn't right for me and I thought it would be something that I wouldn't feel good about...[but] At every point in our lives, as we have experiences and get older and develop a sense of humor about things, we change our opinion. I've become older and wiser and found, through my life experience, that different opinions that I have held -- pretty dearly -- have changed."
