Biography
Personal life
Sloane was born Lindsay Sloane Leikin in Long Island, New York of Jewish heritage.[1] She had a nose job when she was younger.[1] In 2004, Sloane married Dar Rollins, an agent for International Creative Management. Sloane is friends with actresses Sarah Michelle Gellar and Melissa Joan Hart. Sloane was Gellar's maid of honor at her wedding to Freddie Prinze, Jr. in 2002.
Sloane feels she was cast as the "quirky, awkward girl" or "the best friend of the cute girl" in many of her roles.[1]
Sloane made a rule for herself that she would not date other actors, based on her previous relationship with actor Nate Richert. She mentioned that it was difficult to watch your boyfriend "make-out" with another actress and agreed with radio interviewer Howard Stern when he said that there was "too much temptation in their lives and they can end up straying". She also mentioned that her boyfriend at the time had difficulty watching her kissing male actors.[1]
Career
After moving to Los Angeles, Sloane signed with an agent at the age of eight. Her mother once drove her to an audition through the 1992 LA Riots.[1] Her first recurring television role was as Alice Pedermeir on The Wonder Years from 1991 to 1993. She later played Valerie Birkhead on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch from 1997 to 1999, and joined the casts of the short-lived series Grosse Pointe and The Stones. Sloane auditioned unsuccessfully for many roles in a number of television shows including Blossom and Full House.[1]
Sloane also appeared in episodes of Dharma & Greg, My So-Called Life, That 70s Show, The West Wing, and Entourage. Her film resumé includes roles in Bring It On, Exposed, The In-Laws and Nancy Drew, Sabrina Down Under, Over Her Dead Body and The Accidental Husband. She played the voice of the older sister in "Why, Charlie Brown, Why?".
