Kelly Michelle Lee Osbourne (born 27 October 1984) is an English media personality, fashion designer, singer, actress and model, known for being the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. She was thrust into the limelight after appearing on reality series The Osbournes with her family, for which they won a 2002 Emmy award for Outstanding Reality Programme with her family. She has also appeared on the Dancing with the Stars,1 in which she and professional dance partner Louis van Amstel took third place, and has made forays into music, acting, fashion, writing and radio presentation.
Early life
Kelly Osborne was born in Westminster, London. She has an elder sister, Aimee, and a younger brother, Jack. She has two half-siblings: Jessica Hobbs and Louis John Osbourne from Ozzy's first marriage. She is the goddaughter of Elton John, as seen on an episode of The Osbournes.episode needed She had an unofficially "adopted" brother, Robert Marcato, whom Sharon and Ozzy took in after Marcato's mother died. Kelly grew up travelling with her father as he went on tour, and lived in more than 20 homes between the UK and the USA.2
Career
The Osbournes
Osbourne and the rest of her immediate family (without Aimee) were thrust into the international spotlight with the MTV reality show The Osbournes, which aired from 2002 to 2005. The series chronicled their day-to-day life, and the show became a hit for its portrayal of a dysfunctional, though close-knit family in which metal music, profanity and other harshness were a daily part of life. Kelly, the middle child, emerged (according to Rolling Stone) as "a wickedly funny, brutally honest, pint-size, potty-mouthed spitfire." The series started when she was around the age of sixteen, ending around the ages of eighteen or nineteen. Kelly said in an interview for The Osbournes DVD that the crew were only actually supposed to be there for a few weeks but ended up staying for a few months and that the constant cameras focusing on her and her family was stressful.3
In March 2009 Osbourne returned to television with the rest of the Osbourne family on Osbournes: Reloaded.4 and was canceled later that same night due to the show being unsuitable for American TV
Music
Her debut album, Shut Up!, was released in 2002 to moderate American sales, but good European sales, which was debuted with Houston rock band Pure Rubbish at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards.5 Osbourne's 2002 debut with Epic Records, "Shut Up!", debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The album was met with bad critical reviews and, by May 2003, Osbourne was dropped from Epic Records. By autumn she was on the Sanctuary label, later recording a duet of "Changes" (a Black Sabbath song) with her father. The duet hit #1 on the UK charts. Changes was one of a few tracks to have fallen down the charts (From 1 - 3) whilst selling more copies than the week it reached number 1. Osbourne was the first artist to top all three of the Billboard charts dance surveys in the same week with the "Chris Cox Club Remix" of "One Word".6 The album "Sleeping In The Nothing" was not without controversy, due to its reportedly heavily-altered album cover, in which Osbourne appeared slimmer,7 despite her previous assertions of being happy with her size.citation needed
During an interview in late 2005, Osbourne denied reports she was ending her music career, saying: "I don't know where the quit rumours came from - I've just recorded a version of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" with Cyndi Lauper".8
Osbourne was forced to back out of her final performance in West End musical Chicago after the 31 October 2007 incident that injured her back. She later went on to win theatre actress of the year at the glamour awards in the UK. On the same night, she attended the Sony Radio Academy Awards, where she was nominated for the Rising Star Award, which she did not win.
Osbourne wants to get back in the studio and work on her third studio album. Her previous album was released four years ago, and she said that after taking a break from music, she wants to do it right this time. On her twitter page, Kelly wrote that she had just finished a track she was working on in her fathers studio, she describes it as sounding very 1990s, she wants to start working on new tracks with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and has revealed she is working on a collaboration with a mystery pop star, her new musical direction is a more gentler sound than her first record "Shut Up/Changes", but is still reminiscent of her second electronic sounding LP "Sleeping in the nothing. She hasn't yet confirmed details of a new record or release dates.
Acting
Osbourne made her debut as an actress with a starring role on 7 October 2004 on the ABC high school teen drama Life As We Know It, where she played the supporting role of Deborah Beatrice Tynan. In June 2006, Osbourne played the role of Wendy from Peter Pan in The Queen's Handbag. In 2006, Osbourne provided a voice for the animated film Live Freaky Die Freaky. In July 2007, it was announced Osbourne was to take on the role of prison matron Mama Morton in the musical drama Chicago.9 Her seven-week run (from 10 September) in the musical at the Cambridge Theatre would be her stage debut, London's The Stage performing arts weekly reported.10
In 2008 she features in the short musical film The Town that Boars Me by photographer Ben Charles Edwards . The film also features Sadie Frost, Jodie Harsh, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Zandra Rhodes amongst others. The film is set to debut in late summer at the Portobello Film Festival. Osbourne will be starring alongside David Chokachi and Brooke Hogan in horror film Devour, set for US release in 2010. The film is currently in post production. In 2009 she appeared in an episode of Hotel Babylon, a British TV show aired on BBC One. She played Jo a character very similar to herself.1112

Dancing with the Stars
Osbourne appeared on the ninth season of Dancing with the Stars with Louis van Amstel. Shown in a video before her first dance was Amstel about to meet Kelly when her dad appeared and yelled "SHARON!". She danced a Viennese Waltz and received high praises from the judges including Len Goodman who said "It was the best Viennese Waltz of the night". Her parents both were in tears. She received a 23/30, getting second place on the judges' leader board and that week's encore. The same week she danced a cha-cha-cha relay and received 8 points and second place out of the four other cha-cha-cha relay couples. The following week, Baz Luhrman filled in for judge Goodman and she danced a tango making many mistakes. Backstage, she started crying but received a 19 which was "better than which she hoped for". Her next dance was a samba which she received a 20 mainly because there was too much kissing going on during the dance between her and Amstel. Next week introduced four new dances (two-step, Charleston, Lambada and bolero) and she danced a Charleston tying with her first week's performance of 23. The following week, she danced a Paso Doble to "Crazy Train", one of her father's famous songs which judge Carrie Ann Inaba quoted "it must have made her father proud" and received her highest score of 24. However, backstage after the performance, she had apparently injured her foot. This did not affect her dancing, however the following week when asked to dance a Jitterbug, judge Bruno Tonioli quoted "it was just beige" and she received a 20, the first time she came in last place. That same week, she danced a Mambo in the first ever Mambo marathon and was fourth eliminated in the dance receiving 5 points. The following week, Osbourne and Amstel danced a Salsa and tied with their highest score of 24 and a Team Tango along with future winner Donny Osmond and future fourth place participant Joanna Krupa. The team received a 28, her highest score with a group or without plus the encore for the week. That dance was also the first and only 10 she was awarded from Bruno Tonioli. Osbourne moved on to the Top 5 week where she danced a Foxtrot and a 1960s themed jive. Her first dance got her a 25 and the second, 26. She however was last to be called safe and Aaron Carter was shockingly eliminated. For the final four week, she for the first time danced three dances in one week. She first danced a Rumba where she had no help and had to do a 15-second solo. She was scored a 24. Her next dance was a Quickstep where afterwards she broke into tears and was scored her highest solo dance of 27. She then danced her "knock-out" Cha-Cha-Cha which had been planned for weeks ahead and was scored 27. That week, she was once again last to be called safe and shockingly, she moved onto the finals where Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough were eliminated. The final week had her and Amstel dance 4 dances which included an Argentine Tango (26), a Megamix dance with Osmond and Mya (26), her Freestyle (24) and a repeat of her Viennese Waltz (26). She received the lowest score in every dance and a final total of 102/120 for that week. She took home third place.
