Music career
Mercury Nashville
Signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2000, O'Neal released her debut album, Shiver in 2000. The album reached #14 on the Top Country Albums chart, and featured five charted singles. Two of which, "There Is No Arizona", and "When I Think About Angels", reached #1 on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs chart). Three additional Top 50 songs were released between 2001 and 2002. The single, "I'm Not Gonna Do Anything Without You", a duet with country singer Mark Wills, is also available on Wills' album, Loving Every Minute.
In 2003, O'Neal released the single, "Every Little Thing". It reached #34 on the Country charts, and the album, On My Way to You, but the album was never released. Soon after, she exited Mercury Nashville's roster.
Capitol Nashville
Later in 2004, she signed to Capitol Records Nashville, where she released the album, Brave. The album reached #6 on the Top Country Albums chart, giving O'Neal her highest charted album. Three songs were released from the album, "Trying to Find Atlantis", "Somebody's Hero", and "I Love My Life", which all reached #18, #3, and #26, respectively. The title track to her unreleased Mercury album was also included on this compilation.
Also, in early 2007, she released "God Don't Make Mistakes". The song failed to make an impact at country radio, where it only reached #47. After that, O'Neal left Capitol in late-2007.1
1720 Entertainment
In the early months of 2008, O'Neal signed with record label 1720 Entertainment.23 A new single, "Like a Woman", was released in November, where it debuted at #59 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The single is the lead-off single from her third official album of the same name. The song peaked at #43 on the country chart in early 2009. A second single, "Soldier Comin' Home", will be released. As of May 2009, O'Neal's album still had not been released, however, the release date has been pushed back several times.
