Biography

Involved in music at an early age, Brook performed professionally as a child in a folk duo with her mother called Generations.1 Together, they independently produced three albums, "Dream Maker", "Lift Me", and "Millennial Child/Waiting For You". Muiti-instrumentalist and songwriter Holly Brook started her first band at the age of fifteen after 'sneaking' into bars, working with jazz musicians including Jeff Eckles and Leo Sidran in Madison Wisconsin. Two years later, in 2003, Brook moved to Los Angeles and recorded a demo, which led to her being signed by Linkin Park guitarist Brad Delson to the band's vanity label, Machine Shop Recordings, in the fall of 2004. Holly's voice was featured on the Fort Minor song by Mike Shinoda "Where'd You Go" which won MTV VMA ringtone of the year award in 2006.

Working with producer Jonathan Ingoldsby, Holly Brook released her debut album, Like Blood Like Honey, June 6, 2006. She landed opening spots for tours with well known acts including Jamie Cullum, KD Lang, Daniel Powter, Teddy Geiger, and Duncan Sheik, who soon invited her to join him in his sets. She continues to tour and work with Sheik on various projects.

In May 2008, Brook was released from her contract with Machine Shop and signed with OCD Music Group.citation needed

Brook has appeared on albums by other artists, including Brie Larson's Finally Out of P.E., Apathy's Wanna Snuggle?, and Fort Minor's The Rising Tied. Brook has toured with Duncan Sheik as part of his band, and appears on his 2009 album Whisper House. Beginning in 2010 she also appeared in the theatrical version of "Whisper House," playing one of the two lead ghost vocalists along with David Poe.2 She will be releasing a new album entitled O'Dark Thirty in 2010.
