Music career

Brooke Valentine made her debut with the album, Chain Letter, which was released on March 15, 2005. The album was led by the hit single, "Girlfight", which features Lil Jon and Big Boi. The single peaked at number twenty three in the United States. It became a moderate success internationally, peaking in the top fifty in Australia and Ireland, and top forty in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Chain Letter debuted at number sixteen on the US Billboard 200 and number three on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart. The album failed to chart internationally. However, success was limited, as the album descended charts fast, due lackluster single performance. The albums second single, "Long as You Come Home", underperformed peaking at number seventy-one on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and the third, "Cover Girl", failed to chart. The album has sold over 340,000 copies as of 2009.

Valentine initially planned to release her second album, Physical Education in September 2006. She released, "D-Girl", which featured late rapper Pimp C, in June 2006. However, due to the song only peaking at number ninety-two on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart, the album's release was pushed back. She then released the second single, "Pimped Out", which featured Dem Franchize Boyz, in November 2006, for a January 2007 release for the album. However, the song didn't fair much better than its predeccesor peaking at number eighty-seven on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Therefore, the albums release was pushed back again to an unspecified date. In late 2007, it had been announced that the album had been shelved. This was during the merging of Virgin and Capitol Records. News of the album had not surfaced since then. In April 2009, Brooke Valentine released the album as a mixtape, titled Physical Education: The Mixtape. The release only featured seven tracks, including the second single, "Pimped Out". With little promotion, it failed to chart.

Brooke Valentine has been working on her official second studio album. It was originally due for a 2009 release, but will now be released in 2010. She plans tpo release the singles, "Holla" and "Show Stoppa".
